Ann Ajari, MSW

Social Services

Patient care at Tahoe Forest Cancer Center is certain to extend beyond medical diagnoses and treatments. This is where Social worker Ann Ajari steps in to make sure patients and their families have the support and direction needed to tend to emotional and other personal needs. Ann will educate patients about the appropriate community resources available to them, including support groups for cancer patients, survivors, and families. But, as Ann points out, the commitment to each patient’s entire well-being is shared by all the Tahoe Forest staff, making her duties a natural extension of this compassionate medical approach. Ann says she also has much to gain in this supportive environment, sharing, “I learn from every patient’s life I touch.”

Ann, who earned her master’s degree in social work at University of California–Berkeley, continues to build on her education by taking at least one professional class per year. She also enjoys hiking, cooking, fishing, and sewing and is involved with her church, the Salvation Army, and volunteers with a senior advocacy program. She and her husband Bruce have two children.
