Oncology Nurse Practitioner

While pursuing her advanced education Cathey joined the Tahoe Forest Cancer Center as the Nurse Case Manager in 2006. She graduated with honors as a nurse practitioner from the University of Nevada, Reno in May 2008. Cathey was also named Tahoe Forest Hospital’s “Nurse of the Year” 2008.

“Caring for our patients is what makes my job rewarding and fulfilling. When I go home at night, I just want to know that I have done everything I can for everyone I have seen that day,” says Cathey.

Cathey spends her free time enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. Her passions include skiing, running, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, and hiking. She also makes time for cooking, gardening, reading and volunteering.
