Support Services Coordinator
While completing his post-doctorate psychology work in the North Lake Tahoe area with Robert Gaffney, MD, and Orin Borders, Ph.D., Kirk joined the Tahoe Forest Cancer Center, first as a volunteer in 2009. Kirk graduated with a Masters in Social Work in 2001 from Grand Valley State University and his Doctorate work in Psychology in 2007 from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco. Currently, he develops and implements psychotherapy programs to improve quality of life and help speed recovery time for patients. Kirk’s first priority is the development of a supportive and caring relationship with his patients in order to create healthy life choices.
“Making changes can be very difficult. If I can help patients make changes to enhance the quality of their life and speed their recovery, then I am living out my values as a psychologist and as a person.”
Kirk completed his dissertation on risk taking and mountaineering. He continues to spend his free time enjoying the mountains of Lake Tahoe and the Eastern Sierras. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends in the bay area.
