Cancer Center Director
Part of the Tahoe Forest team since 1989, Eileen Knudson served as a Home Health Staff Nurse and Hospice Director before taking her current position as the Cancer Center Director in 2006. She welcomes the challenge of her new role, and, with a background that includes working as a volunteer nurse during the 1981 famine in Somalia and Ethiopia, it’s clear that our patients will be well-served by her perseverance and dedication.
Eileen recognizes that the emotional well-being of patients undergoing cancer treatment must be tended to along with their physical needs. By personally greeting patients and always inviting them to share their concerns, she’s an important part of our commitment to personalized care.
During her free time, Eileen enjoys reading, traveling, cross-country skiing, and other outdoor activities. She also works on community fundraising projects and enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband Tom, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winning journalist.
