Charitable Contributions

A charitable gift to the cancer program for the benefit of others is a wonderful way to affirm your values and priorities.  Support in the form of tax deductible gifts, private memorials, grants and local fundraising events are necessary to meet the financial challenges of the cancer program.  The Tahoe Forest Hospital Foundation is a charitable organization under section 501(C)3 under the IRS code.

Donations should be designated to:

Community for Cancer Care Endowment

Tahoe Forest Health System created the Community for Cancer Care Endowment to fund high quality and varied services and programs offered through the Tahoe Forest Cancer Center (TFCC) for local cancer patients. All programs and services are funded through philanthropy. Some of them include: free caregiver education; WeCARE!™ a Community-Based Cancer Peer Navigator program providing special support on a one-to-one basis; Exercise for Energy; home health care; free health presentations from TFHS physicians and psychosocial programs, which aim to provide behavioral health and psychological services for those with chronic illness.

The following three components of the Community for Cancer Care Endowment are among the most significant of the Cancer Center expansion and must be funded by outside sources: Patient and Family Cancer Care Programs addressing the social, psychological, emotional and functional aspects of a patient and caregivers experience; a Sustainability Fund to attract and retain cancer care clinicians and oncology equipment to sustain Tahoe Forest Cancer Center, and a General Campaign for Cancer Care to support cancer services within Tahoe Forest Cancer Center.

Tahoe Forest Health System developed the Community for Cancer Care Endowment website as a resource to learn more about local cancer center needs, the endowment’s goals and mission, along with offering information about various ways to donate. The site is located at www.endowment4cancercare.com.
